You can use the RR that you earn from one item to buy another item that will produce an RR - but not the SAME item. RR's are manufacturer's coupons and are accepted at some supermarkets. General Mills Rebate & Safeway

Here is a great "Try Me Free" Offer from General Mills that is only good at Safeway or its affiliate stores (Carrs, Dominick's, Genuardi's, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, and Vons). You must include UPC's and an original cash register tape showing purchases made between 2/5/12 and 3/31/12.

I read about this offer online, and since we did not receive it locally in our inserts, I traded with someone in California for it.

The rebate gives your purchase price back on 10 different General Mills products:  Cheerios Dulce de Leche flavor cereal, Cheerios Multigrain Peanut Butter flavor cereal, Fun-da-Middles, Yoplait Greek yogurt, Yoplait Greek yogurt with Granola, Ocean Spray Fruit Shapes, Progresso Soup, Totino's Pizza Stuffers, Pillsbury Breakfast sandwiches,  and Nature Valley Protein bars.

I was able to find 8 of these products at my Safeway and had coupons for 4 of them. I paid about $18.52 for my groceries, and I hope to get nearly $30 back on the rebate!

Here are the coupons I used:
Ocean Spray Fruit Flavored Snacks - .50 off in the General Mills insert of 2-5-12
Fun-Da-Middles Cupcakes - .50 off in the General Mills insert of 2-5-12

Safeway doubles coupons up to .99 face value with your store rewards card. A nice bonus on this purchase was that I received a Catalina coupon worth 20 Box Tops for Education!

Kelloggs Cereal Rebate - $10 Gift Card

Here is an awesome rebate on Kelloggs cereal. Submit 10 UPC's from the following participating cereals and fill out the Kelloggs Rebate Form by April 30th to receive a FREE $10 prepaid debit gas card in return. No cash register tape needed. This deal is a limit of 5 per household!

This offer was originally marketed towards AARP members, but you do not have to be a member or even over age 50 to receive the gift card. Also, it is advertised as a "gas card" but you don't have to use it just for gas. The card can be used any place where Discover is accepted.

Please note: the address on the form is incorrect and will result in your rebate being returned. The correct address is:
Kelloggs Gas Rewards Card

To get a coupon for $4.00 off four boxes of Kelloggs cereals:  click here . If you don't see it immediately, try zip code 34102.

Next week Giant will have an Instant Savings offer on Kellogg's cereal. Buy any 4 boxes in a single transaction and instantly save $6.00 off your bill. You should be able to combine the coupon above with the instant savings for a good deal, then save the UPC's for your rebate!

CVS Money Making Shop

I did this nice little money maker shop at CVS today with the $3 coupon on Facebook that I posted about the other day:

I bought 1 Coldcalm on sale for $6.99

I got 1 Tylenol Precise Cream on sale for $7.49

And I got 3 packs of Eclipse gum (18 count) on sale $1.00 each

My total came to $17.48

I then used the $3.00 CVS coupon good on a $15.00 purchase and a $5.00 coupon on the Tylenol from the 2-12-12 Smart Source.

That brought my balance down to $9.48 and after tax the total was $9.54.  I used $9.00 in ECB to pay, so my out of pocket expense was 54 cents.

I then got back the following Extra Care Bucks:
$6.99 for the Coldcalm
$2.00 for the Tylenol Precise
$2.00 for the Eclipse Gum
---------------------------
$10.99 Total

Here is another scenario you can do, if you get a coupon from the CVS Kiosk for $2.00 off 2 bags of Hershey's Drops/Minis/Pieces when you scan your card.
Buy 3 single serve bags of Reese's Pieces at $1.19 each. They are on sale this week, Buy 2, Get 1 Free. The total would be $3.57 minus the free bag ($1.19) makes it $2.38. After your $2.00 CVS coupon, it will come to 38 cents for three bags or 13 cents each!

Colgate - Major Money Maker at Rite Aid!

This week Rite Aid has Colgate toothpaste on sale for $3.50 and you earn a $3.50 Up reward when you buy it, so FREE!  Make sure you get the Total Advanced or Sensitive brand. The limit is 4 UP rewards per Wellness Card.

It is a money maker with coupons:
Buy 4 Colgate toothpaste for $3.50 each = $14.00
Use four $1.00 manufacturer's coupons from the 2-12-12 Smart Source insert = $4.00
Pay $10.00 plus tax out of pocket
Get back $14.00 in Up rewards!

There is also a .50 Rite Aid store coupon for Colgate toothpaste in the Diabetes Toolkit coupon booklet that I posted about recently, that you can "stack" with the manufacturer's coupon for a bigger profit.

Colgate toothpaste ALSO counts for all of these promotions:

If you haven't yet done the Black History Month mail in rebate to get back $5.00 when you buy $10.00 in Colgate-Palmolive products from the 1-29-12 Smart Source insert, you can submit your receipt and UPC's to get back another $5.00! Just remember to buy of your items in one transaction.

Colgate is one of the products that qualifies for the Diabetes UP worth $10 when you spend $50 on specified products. This one tracks on your receipt, so you don't have to spend all $50 at once. Grab the Wellness Diabetes flyer and have the cashier scan it when you shop to get credit.

Finally, Colgate counts towards the Monthly UP to get back $10 when you spend $25 on Advil, Robitussin, Thermacare, Dimetapp or Colgate products. If you have tracking leftover from the Thermacare last week, as I do, then you can earn your UP without any extra out of pocket expenses this week!!

Free money from CVS!

CVS has an offer right now to comment on their Facebook page about your experience with their pharmacy and receive a coupon for $3.00 off your next $15.00 purchase. You can click here to post your story.

I told how my pharmacist saved me money on my son's Retin-A prescription. He suggested that I go home and google the words "Retin-A" and "rebate" to find a form to download that would save me money. I didn't even know that rebates existed for prescription drugs! I saved about $70 because of him. But you can even say you have never spoken to the pharmacist and get the coupon. It showed up in my email inbox just moments after I posted on Facebook.

A few months ago I signed up for the Extra Care Advantage for Diabetes program at CVS here. Last week I received a booklet of coupons for diabetes related products in the mail from CVS along with one that said "take this to your pharmacist to receive a $5.00 gift card"!

I took it to the pharmacist a few days ago, and received a packet of diabetes information and coupons like this:

Then the pharmacist gave me a gift card that looked like this:
Thank you, CVS, for treating me so well!

Refunding for Fun and Profit

I started refunding about two years ago. I began slowly, doing a refund here and a refund there. This month I reached my all time high for refunds. Below you see a photo of the 26 checks that I have received in 2012 totalling over $172!!

What is wonderful about these refunds was that I received them all for purchasing grocery items like meat and cheese or on items that I got for free with coupons or drugstore rewards!

The pink check on the left hand side is my Single Check Rebate from  Rite Aid . I entered my receipt info for purchases that qualified for rebates on-line, and at the end of the month Rite Aid sent me a check for the total amount. You can either deposit this check into your bank account or use it to shop at  Rite Aid for future purchases.

All of the checks in the middle and the big pink ones on the right are from beer companies, but I didn't purchase any beer to receive them. In some states you can not be required to purchase alcohol in order to receive a rebate, and Virginia is one of them. These are called "No Beer Purchase Required" rebates - abbreviated as NBPR.

These forms are often difficult to find, so I trade coupons or box tops for them. I got these refunds for purchasing snacks, pizza, meat, fruit, deli items or whatever crazy thing the beer company decided to give a refund on. Look for them on the beer/wine aisle of your supermarket.

Most of the refund amounts are small - anywhere from $1.00 to $6.00, but this just goes to show that little amounts can really add up. I never buy something just because I have a refund unless it is a "Try Me Free" offer. But if I can get something for free with coupons and a sale AND send off for a refund on it, then that's profit in my pocket!

Free Magnifying Glasses at Rite Aid!

This week Rite Aid has Foster Grant "Spare Pair" reading glasses on sale Buy One, Get One 50% off.

The regular price is $9.99 so your second pair only costs $5.00.  Buy 2 pair with your Wellness Card for a total of $14.99 and get back an UP reward for $15.00!

Go to the pharmacy and ask for the Diabetes Toolkit first. It's a box that looks like this:

Inside you will find a coupon booklet that has a $5.00 coupon off any Foster Grant eyeglasses. You will end up with two pair of free magnifying glasses and make a $5.00 profit!
These glasses also count towards the February Winter Rewards "Buy and Save" promotion to get back $10.00 when you spend $100.00.

Weekly Roundup #6 - Feb 8-14, 2012

This week I mainly stocked up on drug store freebies and cheap grocery items at Giant. I haven't purchased much in the way of food in February, but I plan to supplement at Harris Teeter Super Doubles this week! Here is what I got:

Purchases
Food
- Gallon milk (1)
- Loaf of bread (1)
- Chi-Chi's tortillas (10)
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal (1)
- Pennsylvania Dutch Noodles (4)
- Grande Tortilla Chips (4)
- Chef Boyardee Ravioli (10)
- Welch's Grape Spread (7)
- Hershey's Chocolate Bars (4)
- UP2U gum (7)
- Necco Sweet Tarts (3)

Household
- Purina One Beyond dog food (4)
- Stayfree Pads (4)
- Revlon Emery Boards (8)
- Revlon Nail File (1)
- Colgate Total Toothpaste (2)
- Lady Speed Stick deodorant (10)
- Maybelline Babylips balm (2)
- Zarbee's Cough Syrup (1)
- St. Joseph's Aspirin (1)
- Got2Be Hair Styler (2)
- Compact Mirror (1) - this was a clearance item that my daughter needed for a science class project

Refunds
- Ecco Domani NBPR rebate to get back $2 when you buy Greeting Cards
- Colgate-Palmolive $5 rebate for the Speed Stick deodorant

Expenditures
Rite Aid - 3.31
CVS - 5.53
Walgreens - .60
Giant - 28.24
Total: $37.68

I thought the Speed Stick BOGO free coupons would take $3.99 off my bill at CVS again this week. They did automatically scan for that amount, but the cashier reduced them down to $1.99 each, so that is why I owed over $5.00 at CVS. Normally I try to "roll" my drug store rewards over from one week to the next and just pay tax.

Pfizer Rebate or How I Get Paid to Shop!

Last night I made an amazing shopping trip in order to submit for this rebate which was in the Red Plum insert of 1-29-12. It is good for $10 back when you buy three of the following Pfizer products:

- Centrum, Centrum Silver, or Centrum Specialists 60ct+,
- ProNutrients Omega or Fruits & Veggies 50ct+or ProNutrients Probiotic 14ct+,

- Caltrate Soft Chews 60ct+,
- Advil 40ct+ Advil PM 16ct+, Children's Advil 4oz+, or Advil Congestion Relief 10ct+
- Thermacare 2ct+,
- Robitussin liquid 4oz+ or tablet/cough gel 20ct+
- Dimetapp 4oz+

Your purchases must be made between 1/24/12 and 2/29/12 and the limit is one per household. All three items must be on one receipt!
Here is what the form looks like:

I wormed my way through the crazed last minute Valentine's Day shoppers at Rite Aid to pick up 6 Thermacare HeatWraps. They were on sale 2/$12 so my total came to $36.

I used six coupons for $3 off each that I got here totalling $18. That brought my out of pocket expense down to $18.

The Thermacare HeatWraps qualify for two current +UP promotions at Rite Aid:
Weekly UP deal
- Get a $4 Up reward when you buy 2 Thermacare (Limit 4)
Monthly UP deal
- Get a $10 UP reward when you spend $25 on Advil/Thermacare (Limit 4)

Since I spent $36 before coupons, I qualified for the $10 UP plus three of the $4 UP's, and got back $22 in UP rewards.

However, I only actually spent $18, so I made a $4 profit on the spot. After I submit for the rebate, I will get another $10 for a total $14 profit.

The amount that you spend on the Advil/Thermacare deal will track on the bottom of your receipt - you don't need to spend all $25 in one transaction.  Since I "spent" $36 yesterday, I have $11 left over towards another $10 UP when you spend $25.

I plan to pick up 3 more Thermacare today for another $18, minus $9 in coupons, pay $9 out of pocket and get my last $4 UP and another $10 UP. That will give me another $5 profit for a grand total of $19!

Finally, Rite Aid has a promotion going on for the month of February called the Winter Rewards. When you spend $100 during the month on qualifying items with your Wellness Card, you get a $20 UP reward. The Thermacare are on the list of qualifying items, so by purchasing 9 of them for $6 each, I will have accumulated $54 towards this reward! Click here for a complete list of items that qualify.

Ricola Cough Drops are still 1.50 each (2/$3.00) on Real Deal until Feb 23rd, so free with the .75 coupon from the 1-1-12 Smart Source doubled.

There are also some great deals with regional coupons that we did not receive in the Washington Post.  If you have a chance to trade for these coupons or don't mind buying them from a clipping service, then you can also do:
