Food Lion - $10.00 in Free Groceries!

Food Lion has another promotion running simultaneously with The Big Deal this week that can earn you some free groceries!

Spend $20.00 or more on a shopping trip and earn a Proof of Purchase ticket (in the form of a catalina coupon). It looks like this:
The $20.00 is calculated on your pre-coupon bill - I got one of these yesterday and only spent $3.59.

Collect & Save 4 Proof of Purchase tickets over the next 6 weeks and get a coupon for $10 off your next purchase!

Here are the details:

You can do this multiple times. If you plan to spend more than $40.00, you can break your transactions into two and get 2 tickets. Collect as many tickets as you want, then break them into groups of four different weeks for each $10.00 grocery coupon that you claim!

Food Lion - The Big Deal!

The "Big Deal" is at Food Lion from March 28 - April 10, 2012.
Look for Big Deal Signs throughout the store and save instantly when you buy:

10 items in one transaction - $5.00 off your bill
20 items in one transactions - $10.00 off your bill
30 items in one transaction - $15.00 off your bill

Click here to see a list of all the items that qualify!

This is my plan for today:

Buy 2 boxes Sunshine Cheez-It crackers - on sale $3.99, Buy One Get One Free, and use 2 coupons for 70 cents off one box that you can print here. That will make my final price $1.30 each.
Buy 1 box of Kelloggs Crispix and use a peelie coupon that I found at Giant to get a free box of Crispix when you buy two boxes of Cheez-It crackers.

Buy 4 Hormel Compleats at $2.00 each and use 2 coupons to "buy1 get 1 free" that you can print from Facebook here, plus a coupon for $1.00 off two Hormel Compleats from the 2/12/12 Smart Source insert. That will make my cost for four $3.00.

Buy 4 Green Giant boxed vegetables that are on sale 10 for $10.00 and use 2 coupons for 50 cents off two that you can print  here. That will make my final price $3.00 for four.

My total will come to $8.59 after coupons minus the $5.00 instant savings = $3.59 for everything!

Weekly Roundup #12 - March 20-26

This week my shopping trips focused on the Harris Teeter "Triple Coupons" event and the continued Frozen Food Month promotion at Giant. I was able to "roll" my $10 frozen food catalinas at Giant into several deals producing more catalinas, then spent the last one on Gatorade for my husband - an item for which I rarely find coupons.

I purchased this Minute Maid Pomegranate Blueberry Juice on impulse at Harris Teeter, even though I didn't have a coupon for it, when I saw this "Love It Or It's Free" hangtag. The inside of the form says "Try 59 oz. Minute Maid Enhanced Juice or Enhanced Lemonade. If you don't love it, we will refund your purchase price. While I may like the juice, I don't like the price of $3.69!

Exxon Speedpass - Save $15.00 on Gas!

The price of gas seems to be going up every day, so it's great to find a way to save at the pump. I paid $2.97 per gallon to fill up this morning at Shell with the Giant Gas Points that I earned buying cheap Hormel Compleats Kids meals and Planter's Nutrition bars (see my post below).

Here is another program you might be interested in to save money on gas at Exxon or Mobil gas stations called Speedpass.

First, you sign up here for the program, to have the Speedpass mailed to your home. It has your credit or debit card information encoded on it and looks like this:

Then you go here to register your pass, and affix it to your keychain. The next time you buy gas, just point the Speedpass at the pump device reader  and wait for the Tiger or Pegasus to light up. Pump your gas and your card will automatically be charged.

You have until 5/31/2012 to register for a special offer to save 15 cents per gallon.
Then you have 60 days from the day you registered to buy 100 gallons worth of gas. When you reach a total of 100 gallons, you will automatically receive a $15.00 credit on your debit or credit card in one lump sum.

You can read more about the Exxon/Mobil Speedpass program here.
