What's For Dinner? - Giant Tuna Melt

Two weeks ago Chicken of the Sea tuna was free with a 50 cent coupon doubled and last week Pillsbury Crescent rolls were free with a coupon and Saving Star credit. This week I got two cans of Campbell's Healthy Request condensed soup for free at Harris Teeter and thus had all the ingredients necessary to make one of our favorite dinners - a giant tuna melt with cream of tomato soup!

Here is the recipe:

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

- Mix -up the tuna salad in a bowl.
I used:
2 cans of tuna fish
1/2 onion chopped
1 stalk of celery chopped
1 TBLS of sweet relish
2 TBLS of mayonnaise

- Lay out the crescent rolls on a cookie sheet or pizza stone to form a rectangle.

- Place the tuna salad down the center and add 1/2 cup shredded cheese on top.

- Fold the sides of the crescent rolls over the tuna in alternating strips. You can slice them to make a pretty braided pattern. I was in a hurry and skipped that step.

- Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and add another 1/2 cup cheese on top. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese topping.

- Meanwhile, make soup according to the directions on the can. Remember to cut off the Campbell's Labels for Education!

Easy, tasty dinner ready in less than 1/2 hour and free except for the cheese!!

  1. Ha ha, love it!! Thanks for sharing (even though I can't make this for my husband because of his dislike for anything fishy).
