My Dumpster Dive Field Report and KFR Info!
I had a great dumpster dive this week. In addition to my usual Box Tops for Education (BTFE) and Campbell's Labels for Education (CLFE), I found lot of Coke codes and Kellogg's Family Rewards codes.
Remember to enter the bonus codes as you input your Code codes each week. The past few years MyCokeRewards has offered extra special prizes right before Christmas, so now is the time to start beefing your account up as much as possible to be ready, should they do it again this year.
Also, if you are not aware of it, some Kellogg's Family Rewards codes give you a double dip! Not only do you earn the KFR points when you enter these codes but credit towards these prizes:
- Free OPI nail polish with codes found on specially marked packages of Special K products.
- Free Scholastic books with specially marked Kellogg’s, Keebler and Cheez-it packages.
- Free movie tickets with the MonsterU codes found on specially marked packages of Kellogg's cereal.
- Free subscription to Shape Magazine with codes found on specially marked packages of Special K products.

My Harris Teeter Meal Deal Trip!
I had a quick run into Harris Teeter to take advantage of the Saturday only Evic milk price of $2.57 a gallon. I also grabbed the free Stretch Island fruit chews and cheap Mariani Banana chips.
I then impulsively decided to get this week's Meal Deal:
Normally, I only buy what is on my list, but I knew I would be able to submit this receipt for the Gnarly Head NWPR mail in rebate to get back $3.00!
My store was all out of the Onion dip, but they said any dip would work, so I got the Ranch. My total cost for this trip was $12.49, and my receipt says that I saved $17.64 on this order. I'm not sure what kind of wacky meal I am supposed to make with these ingredients, though!
Update on my Free Knockout Rose Bushes
I previously posted about how I got four large Knockout Rose Bushes for free and spent a day transplanting them in to my backyard in July. Well, with the shock of transplant and the summer heat, they did not fare well, and this is the sight I've had out my office window for the past few weeks:

Nevertheless, I have watered them faithfully every morning and night that we did not have rain, and if you get up close you can see that they are not completely dead:
One of them has even had some new green growth:
Once the growing season is completely over and they are dormant, I will prune them back very short. They have attracted quite a few birds and butterflies as well as dragonflies to the back yard, which is nice.
In other frugal gardening news, these tomatoes sprang up of their own volition this year:
I had a lot vegetables planted last summer, but never got around to doing it this summer. These tomato plants seeded themselves. Love me some free tomatoes!!
