My Thriling Thursday Trip to Target!

Today I had plans to pick my husband up from Union Station, as he was returning from a 2 week business trip to New York City. I also planned to stop off in Fairfax and visit my son at George Mason University. Since I was going to be driving farther afield than normal, I wanted to take advantage of the amazing Target deal that I posted about HERE.

 

My first stop was in Leesburg to fill up with gas. For some reason, the Shell gas stations in Leesburg are cheaper than the Shell gas stations both to the east and west. I used 700 gas points from Giant to pay $2.54 per gallon!  My car was on empty and I put 22 gallons in for a total of $55.50.

Next I ran into Target and grabbed a pair of earrings that were $7.99 but marked down for clearance to $2.38.

Other bloggers reported that they used their Target mobile coupon for a free Timex Ironman watch, but I didn't need or want a watch. I wanted to get my daughter a necklace to go with the gold and white dress that she bought at a thrift shop for homecoming while we were in Virginia Beach. I found this necklace that was $23.99 and took it to the register.

My total came to $26.37, but after the cashier scanned my mobile coupon, I paid a grand total of $2.52 with tax!

When I got to George Mason, I met my son at Starbucks and used the gift card that I got from Prevacid for a free grande Caramel Macchiato.

After that, I made my way into the city, where police and reporters were swarming everywhere due to the Capitol Hill shooting that occurred today. My husband's train was delayed by over an hour, so I was glad I had a full tank of gas and a hot cup of coffee while I sat and awaited his return!

Yesterday I went to Target in search of the 48 cent Mossimo men's pants that I posted about HERE. I found them, but there were only two odd colors - mustard yellow and olive green - and they didn't have them in my son's or husband's sizes, so I passed.

My Totally Terrific Target Shopping Trip!

I don't shop at Target very often because it isn't convenient for me and I've had a few negative coupon experiences there, but I couldn't resist going to try out the money maker scenario that I posted HERE. I only had 4 coupons, and unfortunately, when I got to the store, there were only 2 Schick Quattro razors multi-packs left. I even asked an employee to scan them and confirm that there were no more in the back!

I took along my 2 daughters, who wanted to shop for swimsuits, but they decided that they would rather have new sandals instead. So, instead of getting the free flip-flops, I used the $2.00 Target coupon on nicer sandals. Here is a photo of what I got:

The 2 pair of sandals cost $33.00, yet my total for everything was $26.44!!

Not only did I get $1.52 in overage from the Schick Quattro razors, but I also got $3.01 in overage from the Eclos Skin Renewal Clay Mask. It rang up $1.99 and I had a coupon from HERE for $5.00 off any Eclos product! (I was only able to print one.)

The hydrogen peroxide bottles were 52 cents each, and I used coupons from the Target website for 50 cents off any Up & Up first aid item, to pay 2 cents each!

Here is a breakdown of my trip:
Blue Sandals = 17.99
Black & Silver Sandals = $14.99
Schick Quattro Razors - $5.99 x 2 = $11.98
Eclos Skin Renewal Clay Mask = $1.99
Up & Up Hydrogen Peroxide - 52 cents x 2 = $1.04
