If you managed to print the $5.00 coupon for the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner Kit that I posted about here last week, but haven't used it yet, now is the time! I originally posted that this item was available at Walmart for $9.47, but I then found it on Real Deal at Giant for $8.99. However, there were no products on the shelf, so I got a raincheck. Tonight when I went to purchase it, I found it was restocked and on sale for $6.99! That means it will not only be FREE but a $3.00 Money Maker after Mail in Rebate! If you missed out on the $5.00 coupon, you can still print one for $3.00 at coupons.com.

Jello-O Pudding
After I posted the Catalina deal for Jell-O Pudding going on this week I found an awesome coupon at the Jell-O Facebook page here. You have to take a short Indulgability Test to show you are "mature enough to enjoy Jell-O Temptations", then you can print a coupon for 75 cents off one Jell-O Temptation twice, which will double to $1.50!

One of the coupons that I used on this deal was from my account with Kraft First Taste for $1.00 off one of the new Jell-O pudding flavors: Strawberry Sundae or S'Mores. I picked out the Strawberry Sundae and found another coupon inside the package for 75 cents off one Jell-O pudding snack 6-pack!

Kashi
I couldn't find them, but apparently there are peelie coupons on some of the Kashi Granola bars to Save $1.00 on fresh fruit when you buy the bars. You could use them with the deal I posted here.

If you buy Kashi cereal as part of the deal, look for the boxes with a green rectangle on the side advertising 50 Recyclebank points - not all flavors have them!

CareOne is the Giant line of generic health and beauty care products. This week Giant has CareOne band aids on sale for $2.00, so this would make for a 50 cent box. I have plenty of band aids in my stockpile already, so I'm hoping to score some free or cheap CareOne liquid hand soap today!

Ortega Taco Seasoning

Keep your eyes open for a display with coupons for $1.00 off 2 packets of Ortega Taco Seasoning. These are $3.00 for 2 or 67 cents each. That means the cost after the coupon is 17 cents each!

I plan to buy 3 for $7.50, use $2.20 in coupons, pay $5.00 with my Kashi catalina, owe 30 cents out of pocket, and get back a catalina for $2.00 on my next order!

Dumpster Diving for Fun and Profit!

I'm back from my vacation and checking in.

Here is a post that I wrote just before I left, but it is relevant anytime. 

When I first started couponing I subscribed to receive two Sunday editions of the Washington Post every week. I quickly realized, however, that I was missing out on many deals because I just didn't have enough coupons.  A lot of deals seem to require four "like" coupons for some reason.

At first, I would buy extra papers if there was a super deal, but that was costly. I was opposed to buying coupons off eBay or from clipping services. After all, what was the point of spending money to save money?  Where were these vendors getting all those extra inserts, anyway?  I wasn't convinced that their sources were legitimate.

A light bulb went off in my head when I realized that I could find coupon inserts at my local recycling center for free. Soon, I began finding many other valuable things at my recycling center, including:

• Books
• Box Tops for Education (BTFE)
• Campbell's Labels for Education (CLFE)
• Purina Weight Circles
• UPC's for various refund deals
• Lean Cuisine codes
• Stouffer's codes
• Catalina coupons
• Coke codes
• Kashi codes
• Cars2 codes
• Brand new envelopes and mailing labels 

All of these things are valuable for trading in the coupon world except for the books, which I donate.  Here you see my take from my last dumpster dive - I don't actually dive in - I just stand at the window and cull through the contents.

I also found something today that I have never run across before. A brand new 5-pack of 30 gallon lawn and refuse bags from the Home Depot like these.

I think that is what I love about dumpster diving - you just never know what treasure you will run across. And one of the benefits of living in Loudoun County, I guess, is that some of the residents are so wealthy they throw away perfectly good things without a thought, and then I don't have to pay for them!

Campbell's Soup at Hand is on sale for $1 each (10/$10) and there are coupons for $1 off 2 cans in the Smart Source insert of January 8, 2012. While .50 per can is a decent price for soup, there is a catalina deal running that makes it work out to .17 each!

Here are the details:
Buy any Campbell's microwaveable bowls or Soup at Hand (excluding Healthy Request varieties) between 1/23/12 and 2/19/12 and save on a future order.

Buy 4 and get $1.25 OYNO
Buy 5 and get $1.50 OYNO

You can buy 6 Campbell's Soup at Hand for $6.00 and use 3 coupons to pay $3.00 out of pocket. Then get back a catalina for $2.00 making your total purchase cost $1.00!

There is also a catalina deal on Kleenex tissues (50 ct. or larger) running from 1/23/12 to 2/19/12. Kleenex is on sale this week for $1.50 (2/$3.00). There were coupons in the Smart Source insert of the January 1, 2012 issue of the Washington Post for $1.00 off when you buy two boxes. The catalina details are:

Buy 5 and get $1.00 OYNO

Buy 6 and get $1.50 OYNO
Buy 7 or more and get $2.00 OYNO

If you bought 6 boxes for $9.00 and used 3 coupons for $3.00 off, you would pay $6.00 out of pocket, then get back $1.50 for a total cost of $4.50 or .75 a box. Other newspapers got a coupon for .50/1 box, that would double to $1.00, making your final cost .25 per box.

Pay $2.60
Get $1.00 from  Saving Star  wyb any 3 Kellogg's cereals

Total = $1.60 for 7 boxes of cereal or .23 a box!

Barilla Whole Grain Pasta is on sale for $1.00 (10/$10).  The Washington Post had coupons in the Smart Source insert of 1-8-2012 for $1 off when you buy that would make it .50. However, other newspapers carried a coupon for .55 off that would make it FREE when doubled!
