Proctor & Gamble - Get back $15.00 when you spend $50.00

I stayed within budget this week, even though I made a big mistake at Food Lion. I found out about a Catalina offer on Kraft Mayonnaise and Miracle Whip and I ran to the store on the last night of the sale. This is the only product to which my family is brand-loyal and I was down to my last jar. The mayo was on sale for $3.00 a jar (regularly $5.19!) and there was a catalina offer to get back $2.00 when you bought 2 or more. In my hurry, I forgot that I needed to divide my transactions into 2 jars each to earn 4 catalinas, and bought all 8 jars together. My total was $24.00 minus $4.00 in coupons, so $20.00 plus tax and no catalinas printed out. Not only did I not get back the $8.00 I was expecting, I didn't even get back the $2.00 cat that should have printed. So, today I will be contacting Catalina Marketing (coupon@catalinamarketing.com) to ask for my "missing cat".

A $3.98 Harris Teeter Super Double Trip

This is my beautiful daughter, Charlie, with all the things I got at Harris Teeter during my 2nd Super Doubles trip.

Prior to shopping, I had downloaded the Gain detergent and the Gain fabric softener e-Vic coupons to my Vic card, and they BOTH came off my purchase. Also, my first $1.00 IP coupon for the Life Savers went through, but the second one beeped. The manager pushed it through, and since the Life Savers were on sale for $1.50, I ended up with overage!

Here you can see my receipt - coupons tendered: $63.62

I was especially happy to get milk, bread, and cheese for this price. The milk alone normally costs $3.99!

While shopping I noticed an interesting sign in the greeting cards section. It said: Buy 4 American Greeting cards (minimum $1.99) and get a free Flowering Hanging Basket. Four plant styles from which to choose. I don't know how long this deal is going on, but it sounds like a good one to me - $8.00 for a hanging plant (regularly about $15) and four nice quality cards. Mother's Day will be coming up soon!

Giant - Meat and Spaghetti Sauce Deal

Here is another good deal going on at Giant this week:  Buy 2 Bertolli Pasta Sauce jars (15-24 oz) and save $3.00 instantly off your Fresh Meat purchase.

The cheapest Bertolli pasta sauces are $2.50 each and there was a coupon in the Smart Source insert of 3/4/12 for $1.50 off 2 jars. The last time I went shopping I used the hand scanner and saw that it had given me a coupon for 50 cents off one jar of Bertolli sauce!

Be on the lookout for this No Beer Purchased Required (NBPR) rebate form that I found in Giant this week with the St. Patrick's Day items: Save $5.00 by mail off meat with a minimum meat purchase of $5.01 between 2/1/12 and 3/31/12.

Here is how I combined the two deals:

I bought:
1 - 3 lb. Corned Beef Brisket - $5.28
2 - Bertolli Spagetti Sauce - $5.00
Total: $10.28

Minus:
$1.50 insert coupon
$ .50 scanner coupon
$3.00 instant savings
Total: $5.28

That makes my out of pocket expense 28 cents after rebate!
