Loudoun County Times Mirror Freebies!

I had a nice surprise when I walked out to get my newspaper this morning. The free edition of the Loudoun Times- Mirror came with a special General Mills insert and three small boxes of cereal.

Included were a box of Reese's Puffs, Dulce de Leche Cheerios, and Fiber One 80, along with coupons for $1.00 off one box of each.

These coupons might make for some good deals next week at Harris Teeter Super Doubles.

The Loudoun-Times Mirror also had a preview insert of this weekend's Smart Source!

Start clipping coupons for the last Super Doubles event before Bloom begins the conversion to Food Lion on February 15, 2012. Super Doubles will only occur at the stores in Loudoun County that are not closing.

The stores that ARE closing  - in Ashburn (on Farmwell Rd.) and Leesburg (on Fort Evans Rd.) - will begin marking down their merchandise by 25% beginning on 1-8-2012. Coupons will not be accepted for marked-down merchandise.

Say Goodbye to Bloom

Delhaize America, the parent company that owns Bloom supermarkets has decided to "retire" the Bloom banner and close many of their stores in the country, including one in Ashburn and one in Leesburg, VA, within the next 30 days.

The rest of the Bloom stores in Loudoun County, VA will be converted to Food Lion stores beginning immediately.

Although Food Lion has lower prices in general than Bloom, they do not double coupons or host Super Double events as Bloom does. Click here for the full press release.
