Giant has a Celebrate Father's Day promotion this week to spend $50.00 on gift cards and receive a Catalina coupon good for $10.00 on your next order!

Although the ad only shows four gift cards, in the past this promo has worked on all gift cards sold at Giant except for Giant grocery store cards (as specified in the ad). The Visa gift card has an activation fee of $4.95, but after receiving your $10 cat, it is still a money maker!

This deal is ROLLING!

You can use the $10 catalina that you got from your last gift card on your next gift card, pay $40 and get back another $10 catalina.

The deal does NOT double. If you spend $100 on gift cards, you will only get one $10 catalina, so do separate transactions.

My Shopping Trip Today

My total for these items was $58.40 after coupons and instant savings.  I used 4 ice cream coupons, plus two coupons that came in the mail to get the OJ for free and 200 bonus gas points when you spend $50.00 with your Giant card this week. I got back a $10 catalina and have $50.00 on the Visa card to use for my next shopping trip.

Weekly Roundup #22 - May 29 to June 5

I took advantage of the Dairy Deal at Giant this week and continued to buy Oscar Mayer lunchmeat for the Catalina coupons, while finishing off some rebates. I also got a $10.00 credit to my Visa card from the Exxon Speedpass program and accumulated over 3200 Giant Gas Points!

One evening at Giant I noticed a sign on the Nabisco Go Packs that said "Buy 8 and get 800 Bonus Gas Points". I grabbed the customer service guy walking by and pointed out the mistake. He told me that the store would honor whatever the sign said, so I threw 8 of the snacks into my cart! Of course, only 200 gas points printed out, but I went to Customer Service and they added another 600 to my account.

I went over budget again this week by $21.18 However, in addition to my groceries and household effects, I also picked up 2 camisole tops for my daughters and another wicker chair. And between the Schick Razors I bought this week at CVS and specially marked boxes of cereal that I both bought and found at the recycling bin, I now have enough Spiderman Codes for 5 free movie tickets. This is a $60.00 expense for our family, so I still feel like I am ahead of the game!

Purcellville, VA Harris Teeter Opens - June 5th, 2012

Harris Teeter is celebrating it's grand opening in Purcellville, Virginia with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. The 53,526 square foot store will be open for business 24 hours, have 9 cashier check-out lanes and 4 self check-out lanes.

Harris Teeter's shopper loyalty program is called VIC. You must apply in store for a VIC card (which is free) to take advantage of sales and promotions, and to be entered automatically into sweepstakes. If you don't already have a VIC card, you can get the application form here.

On Tuesday evening, between 5:30 and 10:00 VIC shoppers will receive 10% off all purchases.

Shoppers are invited to meet the management staff on Tuesday evening and to enjoy free samples of Harris Teeter Rancher Steak as well as Harris Teeter Ice Cream. Harris Teeter’s own Dr. Russ will also be present from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. to discuss the store’s yourwellnees and pharmacy programs with shoppers. Harris Teeter will also waive the $14.95 fee for its Express Online Shopping service to help customers save on their first order of $50 or more from June 6 to July 3, 2012.

Shoppers will also be able to sign-up for e-VIC at the event and will be eligible for the additional 5% percent discount.

If you already have a VIC card but are not an e-VIC member, you can sign up before the event here. E-VIC members get special deals emailed to them weekly and can load e-Coupons to their VIC cards. These e-Coupons will "stack" with the manufacturer's coupons that you use in the store!

Food Lion Savings - May 30-June 5, 2012

Click HERE to print out a coupon good for $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase at Food Lion. This coupon is working on the Pre-Sale Price (PSP).  Remember to scan your MVP card at the Kiosk for coupons as you enter the store.

This week you can get a free Pantene Styler when you buy any Pantene Shampoo, so including that in your transaction will boost your PSP total by $4.99, and take $3.49 off your actual total. This offer is one per transaction.

My total was $21.74 minus $3.49 for the free styler = $18.25 minus $18.08 in coupons  = 17 cents. My tax was 59 cents, so my bill came to 76 cents!

I will use the Pantene purchases on this receipt to finish off the P&G Beauty Olympic Rebate!
