After 20 years of offering a nickel rebate to customers for each reusable shopping bag, Giant supermarket decided to end the program last Friday. They announced that this change corresponds with new, lower prices on several items.
Giant will continue to recycle plastic shopping bags that you return to the store and participate in other large scale green practices, like recycling cardboard and using environmentally friendly designs to save energy.
