My gift card "collection"


Here is what I did last week:

• I bought a Visa gift card for $50.00 plus the $4.95 activation fee. My total expense was $54.95 and I and received a $10.00 catalina coupon.
• I bought another Visa gift card for $54.95 minus the $10.00 catalina. I used the first gift card to pay $44.95, leaving a balance of $5.05 on that card, and I received another $10.00 catalina.
• I repeated the transaction, giving me a gift card balance of $10.10 (plus the $50.00 on gift card #3 and the $10 catalina).
• I repeated, raising my gift card balances to $15.15.
• I repeated, raising my gift card balances to $20.20
• I did it again, resulting in a balance of $25.25
• And again with balance of $30.30.
• I repeated 4 more times so that my total gift card balances ended up being $101.50 and I still have a $10.00 catalina.

So, for an initial investment of $54.95 (plus some time running to the store) I ended up with a profit of $56.55!!
