Giant (sale ends today)
Giant has a promotion to get a free box of Giant brand pasta when you buy 4 Del Monte products. The Del Monte canned tomatoes are on sale 10/$10 or $1.00 each. If you happened to print the coupon that was available recently to save 50 cents on two cans of Del Monte tomatoes, you could do this:Buy:
4 cans of tomatoes - $4.00
1 box of pasta - $1.00
Subtotal - $5.00
Minus:
Automatic free pasta - $1.00
Two coupons doubled - $2.00
Total out of pocket - $2.00 or 40 cents per item.
Giant also has Toblerone chocolate bars on sale for $1.50, so FREE with the 75 cent coupon (regional) that was in the 11/11 Smart Source insert. We got a coupon for $1.00 off two in the Washington Post. :(
Gift cards are giving double gas points this week. I used the coupon from the Giant ad in my newspaper to earn 300 Bonus Gas points when you buy a gift card, and picked up a gift card for $50.00 at the Home Depot (in addition to the tomatoes and pasta). I left the store with 400 gas points!
Food Lion (sale ends on Tuesday, December 11)
I bought the Ragu pasta sauce and free spaghetti that I posted about HERE, but something interesting happened. When I scanned my MVP card at the Savings Center kiosk, I received a store coupon for free spaghetti when you buy 2 jars of Ragu pasta sauce, so I handed that to the cashier. It took 12 cents off my transaction, and then the $1.39 cost of the spaghetti noodles also came off automatically. So, my total out of pocket expense for those 3 items was $1.88 or 63 cent each!
Gold Medal flour is on sale Buy One Get One Free, regular price $3.48, so $1.74 each. I printed 2 coupons to save 25 cents off a 5 lb bag HERE, so my total for 2 bags came to $2.98 or $1.49 each! That's a great stock up price for flour, which is normally only a bargain this time of year. I keep it in my freezer until ready to use.
