Recyclebank Points = Supermarket Savings!
If you are not a member of Recyclebank, you are missing out on a valuable chance to learn about greener living while earning some nice coupons and rewards. In the past, Recyclebank offered a coupon good for $10.00 off a $50.00 purchase at Harris Teeter. Unfortunately, that coupon has now been restricted to those partipating in the Recyclebank curbside recycling service. However, you can still get a coupon for $5.00 off a $25.00 at Shoppers Food Warehouse, then use it at Harris Teeter as a competitor's coupon. Harris Teeter has historically held a Super Doubles event the first week in January, so I just ordered my SFW coupon from Recyclebank in preparation. The coupon arrives by snail mail, so you need a little lead time, and I didn't want to forget during the holidays. The coupon "costs" 50 points.
Here are some easy ways to earn points at Recyclebank:
Take the S.C. Johnson Green Choices Challenge! You earn points for the months of August, September, October, November and December by clicking on the little purple targets. There are some "hidden" pledges too!
Learn some tips to make the holidays greener in the Season's Greenings! section. You can earn 100 points for Gift Giving and 100 points for Entertaining.
Play the fun game Think Before You Trash for an easy 25 points.
Learn How a Recycled Cereal Box Can Make Mom Smile for 15 points. Then watch the video "Life Cycle of a Cereal Box" for another 25 points.
Learn More about Greener Paper for 25 points and Learn More about Sustainable Production for 30 points.

That's great--I didn't know you could use competitor's coupons at HT. I remember reading how you used Walgreen's Register Rewards there but didn't know how you were doing that. Do they scan automatically or does the cashier have to push them through? I just ordered one from Recyclebank, so thanks. Too bad the limit is one per month.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Walgreens RR are considered competitor's coupons. They are just catalinas that you can use to buy anything since they say Manufacturer's coupons on them - so they should scan automatically. I have never used a competitor's coupon at HT, so I am going to ask before handing it over.
